SRJ Mamas new book, Essentials of Musicology in South Indian Music, was released on May 9, 2008 at the Music Academy Mini Hall under the auspices of the Music Education Trust (MET) of Chennai. The function was a grand event attended by rasikas, well-wishers, and a number of eminent vidwans. Details on the release function can be found at the following links:

For those of you who inquired about purchasing the book from North America, the publishers (Karnatic Music Book Centre, Chennai) have informed us that they will be setting up an online payment gateway at their website, www.carnaticbooks.com very soon, and the book should be available at that time.
